Fess Claims France Must Pay Debts Or Be Dishonored Nation
In a firm critique, Fess urged France to repay obligations to the United States and fund its wartime loans. He warned that continued ambiguity on debts and a large military could keep France discredited. He contrasted France’s policy with US taxation burdens and noted France’s loans to Poland and Czechoslovakia. He also commented on Germany’s outlook, suggesting Hindenburg may curb monarchist aims, potentially benefiting world stability.
