Husband charged with surety of the peace in alleged threats
Mrs Sallie Wetherspoon made information before Alderman Morrison charging her husband George Wetherspoon with surety of the peace. He was arrested by Constable W H VanGorder and pleaded not guilty. Searight Drowns in Niagara River After Yacht Sinks
John C. Searight former Carnegie Steel furnace chief from New Castle drowned Saturday afternoon in the Niagara River near Buffalo. The yacht he rode in with Arnold turned turtle after a cross current. the other two men were saved while Searight disappeared, thought to have died of heart failure or swept over the falls. Rescue attempts failed as the swift current carried the body downstream. he had lived in New Castle 15 to 20 years and recently headed public iron works in Youngstown.
