In Manheim Pennsylvania Zion Lutheran Church continued its historic rent ritual. Since Baron Henry William Siegel and his wife Elizabeth donated the land in 1772 a red rose is paid each June. This year the rose went to Henry M. Witman of Reading, presented by J David Young for the congregation at the Festival of the Red Rose.
At least 13 persons died in Pennsylvania traffic accidents over the weekend United Press International reports nine deaths in eastern Pennsylvania and four in the western region.
Harrisburg reports an 89.1 percent cut in Pennsylvania minor judiciary members by January 1. The list drops from 5,471 across ace police magistrates and justices of the peace to 595 under new magisterial districts set by county Common Pleas Courts as part of constitutional reform. Police report a portable television valued at 199 dollars was taken from Mrs Arley Murdoch of 403 Bell Ave last night. Burglars forced a rear door into a closed in porch and then another door into the kitchen before fleeing.
State police investigate an apparent disorderly conduct incident that occurred on June 1 near Oak Park Cemetery. An unknown white male, sparsely dressed with a nylon stocking over his mouth and claiming his hands were tied, approached a city woman. She went for help and the man fled at 5 p.m. Saturday. his hands appeared free as he ran away.
Weekend incidents in Neshannock Township damaged eight properties. A cement lion battered a light pole at Joseph Offie's home. A car was left in gear, drifting into Sherman Samuels' yard after hitting a tree. A golf ball shattered two garage doors. other plant damage occurred on Okinawa Drive and Old Plank Road. Total losses estimated at $274. Victims include Michael Theodorou Joseph Anthony Offie Joseph John Kapraly Gertrude Anangst White Henry Shaffer Victor Humbert Ross Scott Lowery. Damages were found yesterday morning.

Police said Cameron was turning onto Weaver St at 2 am when struck.
A flash blaze at an eight room wood and tarpaper home in South Parkersburg killed 12 members of the Charles Bailey family, including 10 children aged eight months to 17 years. Two siblings escaped as the elder Bailey grandfather was treated for shock and investigators planned to question him about the blaze. The tragedy followed a day of related local traffic incidents and a large city sanitation cleanup totaling 1,700 cubic yards of garbage.
