Pennsylvania tests bridge deck durability at PSU facility
Dr. Robert M. Barnoff leads a 18 month program at Pennsylvania State University to test a mile long bridge deck track. A heavily loaded truck will make 200000 trips and stress deflection will be measured. Half the deck is conventional, the other pre stressed. The ultimate test uses steel ingots to fail the deck.
