Oregon Ungreeting Cards Stir State Humor Trend
Eugene residents print and sell 35 cent ungreeting cards poking fun at outsiders while promoting Oregon tourism. The idea, by Frank Beeson and Frank Cloutier, gained rapid sales, with 48 000 second printings and wide distribution. Governor McCall laughed at the gag, urging humor without hostility. In Erie, Pa, a separate item notes a June 13 union election for Doctors Osteopathic Hospital staff.
