James Barnes of 410 S Walnut Street, worker for New Castle Window Cleaning, slipped from a third floor ladder while cleaning the Strauss Hirshberg store at North Mill and North. He grabbed an electric wire to break his fall, landed upright, suffered bruises to his right ankle and left hand, but escaped serious injury and finished the job. The company, led by World War II veteran J W Schenkel, employs veterans only. Foreman Tommy Collins assisted.
