Prosecution papers go to 52 residents cited for unlicensed dogs in a general state dog law sweep. Johnson orders 2000 Marines pulled from Dominican Republic
President Johnson announced at his 43rd news conference that 2000 U.S. Marines will be withdrawn from the Dominican Republic. Total U.S. forces in the area drop to 17,800 from 21,800 at the peak, with a continuing Communist threat and propaganda activity noted.
