Painter Falls From Stack In Serious Injury
Robert Burnside, 33, of 617 Forest Street, was critically injured Sunday at about 4 PM while painting a smoke stack at Universal Sanitary Manufacturing in New Castle Junction. A swing rope hook loosened, throwing him 75 feet onto a building roof. He is unconscious at New Castle Hospital with a fractured skull and neck injuries.

A freak storm swept the district Saturday afternoon with lightning damaging several homes and injuring two men at the United Engineering plant. McConaghy, 17, son of Mr and Mrs Edward H McConaghy of North Beaver township, was killed Friday afternoon May 29 when a team of horses and a lime spreader toppled onto him as he backed the gear into the Fullerton farm barn. He had just finished a high school year and was advancing from sophomore to junior at Mt Jackson school. He was knocked into a ditch while crossing an approach over the ditch.

School Girl And Her Sweetheart Found Dead In West Virginia
In Wellsburg Brooke county authorities investigated a double shooting of Dolores Messack 18 from Chartiers township Pa and Samuel Gaido 20 from Meadowlands Pa found on a farm of H C Simms. Dolores had a 22 caliber rifle bullet in the back of her head and Gaido a bullet in his temple with the rifle clenched in his hand. Authorities could not determine if the deaths were murder or self inflicted. Friends said they planned to marry soon and Dolores was to graduate from high school Tuesday night.
