DER attorney Rep. Thomas J. Fee says the strike force should focus on cleaning the environment and not engage in policy making or administrative and technical swatters. Richard F. Kirschner, 48, of 211 Patterson Ave, is listed in good condition at Jameson Memorial Hospital after his car struck a truck yesterday in Taylor Township. He suffered a head laceration and knee pain, and the crash occurred on Pa. 188 as the truck turned left onto Cherry Street. The truck driver, James D. Lynn stating the rise in bonuses is needed as high school graduates enlisting in the Army have declined below anticipated levels. The request would add to the 189 million the Army seeks for recruiting in fiscal 1977.

He visited with his wife Sara Nell daughter Mrs Norma Jones of Vienna and four grandchildren during a rare Oval Office appearance on the tour day.
Judy McGuire wife of former Farview State Hospital superintendent, tells a Senate investigating committee that patients were abused and that officials offered words but little action. She describes meetings with Lt. Gov. Kline Welfare Secretary Wohlgemuth and Attorney General Packel and notes a push to close the facility while Justice Department found no prosecutable grounds.
William and Emily Harris lost their bid for a mistrial as defense claims a juror sabotaged deliberations while arguing the newspaper mystery. Final arguments were set to begin and the trial expected to continue into Friday in Los Angeles. The Harrises, linked to the Symbionese Liberation Army, face 11 counts of assault robbery and kidnapping tied to the SLA Hearst case.

The county reports that through June 30 the County Home for the Aged has received 207,506.88 of 2,658,440.63 spent since 1972. June allocations earmarked 903,796 for county projects including a new water system and a renovated wing. Pending two final payments due Oct 7 and Jan 2 could strain cash flow. The juvenile detention home is the second largest beneficiary at 189,060.49, with hospitals at 165,000 and land purchases at 98,029.50. Total revenue sharing received by January 7 will reach 2,866,481.70 over five years.
