Air raids press on Hanoi in multiple losses and huge Marine sweep
Six American jets were lost in raids on missile sites near Hanoi with a seventh aircraft reported downed in a separate strike. A rescue recovered one pilot while five others were killed or captured. Marines and Vietnamese forces launched the largest operation of the war south of Da Nang with over 500 Marines and about 1,800 Vietnamese, resulting in 11 Viet Cong killed and 10 captured.
