A fierce rain and wind storm hits New Castle on Wednesday evening, topp ling multiple large trees across Rural Avenue and other streets. Downed trees and burst storm sewers flood roadways, delay streetcar service, and cause damage to vehicles and property including roofs and chimneys. PITTSBURGH July 24 Two New Castle men were hurt when a Capital Limit East Baltimore and Ohio locomotive sideswiped a coal car at the Herron crossing in Allison Park. Engineer R Armstrong and tireman W J Snyder of New Castle Pa received slight lacerations as their engine and tender went into the ditch. Two Pullman cars derailed but stayed upright. occupants jarred but uninjured. A broken flange on a coal car derailed the freight car, causing the incident.
