In Erie Pennsylvania today a man and wife were sentenced to eight months in the Allegheny County workhouse for neglect of their five minor children. Judge A P Rossiter sentenced Frank Mussett 34 and Elizabeth 28 after evidence showed the children had been cared for at Bethesda Home for seven years. Neither parent offered an excuse.

The panel exposed a discrepancy in Aineys sworn statement about staying at the Ambassador Hotel and noted hotel bills were paid in cash.
Harrisburg July 26 Speaker J C Goodnough appointed a nine member committee to draft an income tax bill. The panel includes Representatives Sowers Sterling and Mathay and works with the legislative reference bureau. Members hail from Philadelphia and Bucks counties and other regions. The bill is sponsored by Reg. will.
Fifteen train riders are missing and two men injured after 33 Big Four freight cars derailed near Bellefontaine Ohio while a crowd of riders boarded a bridge earlier. The derailment occurred on a curve at about 60 mph with the cause under investigation and debris obstructing traffic for miles.

Police across north shore suburbs search for 19 year old Fannie Turnbull a Vas sar college student who left home and drove away in her mother's car leaving a note saying she did not want to be a burden on her parents.
Abe Reuben Cohen aged 21 from Cleveland was killed when his truck crashed into a tree while his father Samuel Cohen 51 was injured returning from Rochester with a truckload of raspberries. Samuel was taken to Memorial hospital.
