A fire breaks out on Power Street in the Seventh Ward causing damage and prompting investigations into the cause of the blaze. Local fire crews respond quickly, securing the scene and assessing structural impact. Investigators will determine origin and cause.
Firefighters battled a blaze on Power Street near the Seiberling Rubber company offices destroying a house at 208 Power Street and damaging 206 and 240 Power Street. Loss around 4000 dollars, insured. Extra firefighter Dan McDaniels suffered a severe burn to his left arm. Fire origin traced to 208 Power Street. Continued on page two.
Approximately 4 000 gallons of wine were poured into the Shenango River on Wednesday July 23 after Judge Emery ordered the 80 barrels destroyed. County detectives carried out the seizure and destruction following raids on the King Humbert and House of Savoi Societies. Values per barrel ranged from 80 to 150 dollars, totaling around 8 000 dollars.
