Jameson Hospital Settles Race Discrimination Suit
Jameson Health System paid 50000 to settle a racial discrimination lawsuit after the EEOC sued in February on behalf of a radiology technician at Jameson Hospital New Castle. A hospital spokeswoman said no illegal findings occurred and the settlement was chosen to avoid court, with the claim not found meritorious.

Fatal crash in Washington Township ends Donna Pandice’s life
State police identified 37 year old Donna Jean Pandice of 107 W Euclid Ave New Castle as the driver killed in a morning traffic crash in Washington Township. Deputy Coroner Richard Johnson pronounced her dead at the scene after the 2000 Buick she was driving collided.

American Legion Post 343 hosted Lawrence County veterans from World War II as county officials including County Commissioner Steve Craig Mayor Wayne Alexander State Senators Gerald LaValle and Bob Robbins attended. State Rep. Chris Savnato presented certificates with about 450 to 500 issued countywide.

John Hitch known as Mr Photography dies at 95 in Jameson Hospital. He sparked the Lawrence County Historical Society revival in 1946, gathering thousands of vintage photos and launching slide shows for local groups for two decades.
