Several people not employed by the city received medical benefits from a city union insurance fund over several years totaling about eighty thousand dollars. They were notified in the past week to return the money. The Laborers Combined Funds administers the self insured plan for Local 964, which covers about 100 city employees.

City council to seek bids for sewer repair design
City Council will review three engineering proposals next week for repairing a broken sewer line on North Hill. Michael Baker Jr Inc and two other firms submitted design price quotes after the sanitary line on Park Avenue between North Mercer and North Jefferson streets failed weeks ago.
