Tornado Toll Rises In Wisconsin Towns
Ashland Wisconsin July 17 Three are known to have been killed and a score injured in a tornado that swept Upson Wisconsin 16 miles south of Ashland early today. The known dead are Mabel Johnson 18 Julia Johnson 23 and Irving Anderson 12. Calls for help came from hamlets as doctors and nurses rushed to Upson with first aid supplies. The storm struck without warning lifting houses from foundations and overturning cars. No damage occurred in Ashland itself and other nearby towns reported gales of tornado proportion but no further casualties.
