A 13 year old girl drowned when swept through Cascade Park pool outlet pipe as water drained for replenishment. Lifeguard George Sizinger, 20, was severely injured saving her and is hospitalized with leg, back, and hand injuries. The outlet gate had been opened shortly before the accident, sending water down a 125 foot sluice toward Cascade Lake.
