Woman killed by train near Chewton on Monday
An Austrian woman, 27, Mrs Katy O Lyar, wife of Joseph O Lyar, was fatally struck by a Cleveland flyer on the Pennsylvania line near the Chewton railroad bridge while gathering coal. She died instantly from a head injury and left five young children. The body was sent to Marshall's for burial preparations.

Boy 5 Bitten by Ferocious Dog on Neshannock Street
John McCann, son of Mrs. Nora McCann, was bitten by a large dog owned by Jack Dennis on Sutton Street while delivering bills Saturday. Mrs. McCann filed an accusation with Alderman Ranney. Dennis claims the dog is not aggressive. he plans to kill it and send its head to the Pasteur Institute in Pittsburgh for examination. The boy’s wound was cauterized and he shows no serious effects.
