The British fleet greeted President Truman as the flotilla carrying him to the Big Three conference sailed past Portsmouth. A seven-ship escort led by the cruiser Birmingham met American cruisers Augusta and Philadelphia off the southern coast of England. The ships exchanged honors and continued toward the coast with Birmingham in the lead.
Reports from Brussels state President Truman will land from the USS Augusta near 8 4m on Sunday at Antwerp then fly to Berlin for the Potsdam Big Three meeting.
