Community Service At Cascade Park Service preacher for Sabbath evening

At Cascade Park the community service resumes Sabbath evening with Dr. Charles B. Wingerd of Central Presbyterian delivering The Sensitive Ear sermon. Music by Robert Duff and Helen Ewing, Central choir to render two anthems, augmented by four cornetists. Union services of July grow in attendance as Dr. Samuel F. Irvine of First United Presbyterian preaches July 22.

Former Pastor To Preach Sunday

The Rev. H. M. Shuman of New York City, president of the Christian Missionary Alliance, will dedicate the Gospel Tabernacle at 210 Pearson Street. Services are at 10:45 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. with special music. Shuman is a former pastor here, serving from 1911 to 1913. Special invitations go to several pastors and their congregations for a 2:30 p.m. service honoring the pastor.

Edmundson Will Play Selections At Vesper Service

The First Baptist church youth group hosts a vesper service next Sunday at 6 45 p m in the church auditorium. Garth Edmundson will perform several of his own compositions as part of a special program directed by George Horbon. Edmundson, known as an organist and composer in Western Pennsylvania, has gained notice abroad. The event welcomes all city residents to enjoy the program with the Baptist young people.

Epworth Church Sacred Concert at Epworth Methodist

Epworth Sunday services feature a sacred music program led by Mrs J C B Douthett with Rev Thomas Francis opening scripture and prayer. The program includes Verdi Grand March, soprano solos, piano pieces by Mendelssohn Frank Taylor Jr reading Paul Before Agrippa, vocal and string numbers, and a noted lighter cross ceremony. A free will offering will be collected.

Young Theologue to Speak Sunday at Central Church

Cecil Bailey a Western Theological Seminary student will preach at 11 a.m. in Central Presbyterian church New Castle. Dr C B Wingerd will lead worship and preach at the evening union service in the park. Bailey, a Muskingum College graduate, was licensed at Shenango Presbytery and led Lawrence County Christian Endeavor. locals mostly shy about his debut sermon.

Chewton Air GBysett Celebration at Davidson Home

An Air GBysett Ladies Aid meeting at the Davidson residence drew 35 members to honor the birthdays of Mrs. Terry Davidson, Mrs. Fred Davidson, Mrs Pete Salsberg and Kathleyn, and Pearl Manton. Guests included Mrs. Liltie Rhinehart, Annie Guy, and Jille Sprinke. Quilting followed with a picnic dinner and five birthday cakes on display. The group plans to meet August 2 at the church.

Mr and Mrs John Sonntag and family visited Mr and Mrs Grave Welker of Conneautville, and other relatives from New Castle Mt Jackson East Brook joined a social gathering at the home of Mr and Mrs Martin Booker for their twenty fifth wedding anniversary. Funeral Service Sunday Afternoon for Rev Fran Pastor

A funeral service for Rev Fr Fran Pastor who died Thursday will be held Sunday at 3 00 PM from Madonna church rectory. Rev Fr W Stancelewski announced the rites with the priests choir conducting dead ve psers. Mons M Orzechowski of Cleveland will deliver the tu logy and Rev M Drelak of Homestead will officiate. The body will lie in state until Monday morning when funeral services will be held.
