Washington reports 1961 state crime totals rose slightly with 75,065 major offenses across Pennsylvania, up from 73,958 in 1960. Murders were 24, robberies up 248, burglaries 2,651 more, rapes down, and aggravated assaults totaling 5,456 as national crime also climbs.
