Councilman Lusk calls for a city government shift to a Board of Public Works with a plan to start at the next city council meeting. He frames the change as required legislation to implement the board based system.
Select Councilman Bes Lusk will push for a three member board of commissioners to run city affairs by popular vote with 1500 dollar salaries. The plan would consolidate street, fire, sewer and police related duties under the new board and replace the current councils and street commissioner positions.
A Democratic State Central committee meeting has been called for July 17 in an unspecified city to elect a division and a state chairman. Harry Good of the city will represent Lawrence county. The division chairmen are elected by central committee members, who are the county chairmen. Lawrence county includes Erie, Warren, Elk, Crawford, Venango and Butler. The current division chairman is William H. Kneib of Brie.
A reception honors W. H. Christian M D the colored physician who recently located in the city. The event takes place at St Luke s A M E Zion church Tuesday evening of next week with an extensive program including invocations addresses solos and remarks from clergy citizens medical fraternity fraternities and the Woman s club. Master of ceremonies is Howard Miller with Rev P K Fonvielle delivering remarks.

He disputes Orchard's charges and asserts a conspiracy by mine owners to destroy the federation. Haywood is due to testify afterward.

Isaac Cramer longtime Methodist Episcopal minister and Civil War veteran died at 301 Lobingier Avenue North Braddock. Born Center County Pennsylvania in January 183 years old he enlisted in the 133rd Pennsylvania infantry and served in the 21st Pennsylvania cavalry. He organized Company C 12th Pennsylvania cavalry and fought in famous charges. He married Susan Bayer in 1854 and became a preacher in 1877. Survived by ten children and his wife funeral Friday at 1 30 PM at Fourth Area Methodist Church North Braddock.
Clara EB Rigby through attorney W D Wallace seeks divorce from Charles F Rigby on desertion grounds. The couple wed January 1891 and cohabited until July 2 1907. Also E Mary Kocher files for divorce from John A Kocher on desertion, married December 189? and separated August 1904.

The News learns a telegram from Akron states manager Smith signed infield utility Hugh O Krueger who had been released. Krueger came from Stetler of Steubenville in exchange for Ortlieb and was then released. It was falsely reported he signed a Sharon contract. Smith needed an infielder as Peer fails to report after signing.
Alfred Saidi was arrested Thursday by Constable Stitt on a charge raised by Mrs Nick Monaca. She alleges Saidi assaulted her with a knife after intimidation. Monaca, jailed for twins, says her husband refuses to help due to jealousy over Saidi amid recent troubles.

Samuel Cox son of Mr and Mrs J D Cox of Shenango township recently returned from New Mexico recounts a mountain pass accident. While inspecting a cattle operation on a Mexican ranch he was thrown when his horse slipped tumbling down a hillside and rolled over him. He lay unconscious for more than five hours before fellow ranch hands found him eight miles from the ranch house. He suffered three broken ribs and lingering pain but is recovering after treatment.
