A 21 000 barrel storage tank of the National Transit Company burned after a lightning strike near North Park. A chemical crew from Oil City brought the blaze under control early today after fighting since Sunday night. The tank boiled over spilling oil into Pink Creek and igniting a bridge half a mile away. Thousands visited the scene yesterday.

Mrs. Vesta Pearl Watwood, 35, wife of Albert Watwood, a Big Beaver Township farmer, shot herself in the temple with a .22 rifle after weeks of nervousness and mental trouble. Found unconscious in the cellar, she died about twelve hours later. Coroner J. P. Caldwell reports a year or more of mental illness. husband had hidden the rifle and shells, suspecting danger. Police on duty at the Liberty Dairy Products plant in Pittsburgh amid a continuing strike of dairy workers. The incident followed an attack on diver John Siegel, who was beaten and his wagon burned. deputy sheriffs were withdrawn a week earlier after violence subsided.
