A busy Independence Day period saw multiple firecracker mishaps and traffic collisions. Richard Eyana, 11, suffered burns after a sparkler ignited his clothing while playing with friends. Lance Kay, 16, sustained burns and a hand injury from a firework blast beside Neshannock Creek. David Patterson, 5, cut his lip when a rocket struck him in a neighbor’s yard. Several arrests followed for illegal possession of firecrackers, including David Bishop and other locals. State police logged seven highway fatalities from Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday midnight.

Mrs Elnora Palmer, 8 Grove City RD 2, died at her home yesterday at 1 50 PM after a three year illness. She lived in the area 100 years, born in Butter County December 12. She was a daughter of the late Samuel Love and Mrs Love. Surviving are her husband, three daughters in Grove City areas, two sisters in Buller and California, several brothers, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Traffic Crashes Injure 7 In June State Police Say
State police at the New Castle sub station report seven people injured in June crashes, with one fatality. The month shows a drop from June 1961, when 16 were injured and one killed. Damages totaled $12,455 versus $13,470 in 1961. Police stopped 1,483 vehicles, issued 135 notices, and recovered $42,750 in stolen property.
