Thieves Strip Auto In Mt Jackson Theft Case
A Mt. Jackson resident reported thieves stripped his car of equipment valued at 565 dollars. Lawrence D. Furk, 146 Mt. Jackson Rd., had parked the car at Frank Gadzia’s residence, 74 N. Main St., Bessemer, for repair. The thieves removed the transmission and drive shaft, forced the left front door, and stole a stereo unit with 10 tapes and a tachometer.

Truck rear-ends car on Pa 6 in Shenango Township
State police said at 10:10 p.m. yesterday a truck struck a car operated by Ernest E. Downey Jr. 16, of Wampum RD 2 while the Downey car was stopped to turn left onto Frank Ave from Pa 65. Donald L. Kalajainen, 37, of 956 Qd Princeton Rd. was driving north and failed to see the Downey vehicle, causing an estimated 3800 in damages with no injuries reported.
