John Malonic, 95, of Terrace Avenue, is charged with felonious assault and battery after allegedly drawing a penknife and injuring Tony Lobeski, 35, on Terrace Avenue around 8:30 last night. Lobeski needed stitches, while Malonic was arrested by Constable Mike Fazzone and taken to the jail before Alderman J. Lee Cooper.
Detroit July 3 French balloon Blanchard with pilot Charles Dollfus and Georges Cormier on board wins this year’s Gordon Bennett balloon race. Blanchard landed at Walnut Cove North Carolina about 476 airline miles from Detroit, 15 miles farther than the Kepnner army balloon. Race officials will wait for official calibration to announce the winner. All 12 balloons left Ford airport Saturday and are reported down. The Munster German bag landed near Lynchburg Virginia. Charles Schory of the National Aeronautical Association is asked to rule on Blanchard’s landing legality. Dollfus and Cormier landed in a mill pond then reached shore in a collapsible rubber boat.
Capt. Frank J. Courtney, British aviator planning a non stop flight to America, remained detained in Horta Azores today due to mechanical trouble.

Grove City Pennsylvania July 3 Emma Fage 40 a stenographer in the Mercer County Home office was instantly killed at 730 this morning when the car she was driving turned over about two miles outside Grove City on the Mercer road pinning her beneath and fracturing her skull Miss Page resided in Wolf Creek township with her mother and had been driving between home and her place of employment in her automobile It is believed the car got away from her on the hill outside Grove City and careened into the ditch and overturned
