Diplomatic tension over enforcing American prohibition eases as foreign lines decide to stop loading liquor under seal for homeward voyages. Treasury and State say ships will carry only enough liquor for passengers and crews while ensuring medicinal stock on return trips, with consular reports noting advance cabling for needs.
One man dies and four youths are injured in Pittsburgh area on the eve of the Fourth of July. Charles Munson, 41, Tarentum, died from tetanus after a toy cap pistol injury. James Q. Wareham, 74, longtime Wilmington Township resident, collapsed and died Monday afternoon in a barn while talking with his son who was uploading bay. An out of control dog attacked several children then leapt into a sewer basin and drowned in an incident reported today. A policeman described the death as death by own action.
