The Lawrence Club moves into its new quarters, a renovated 1842 White property at the Mercer and Pall streets corner, after two months of work. The building blends pre Civil War architecture with modern interiors, including four main ground floor rooms, a second floor billiard room, and updated plumbing. An opening banquet and annual meeting will follow the transfer.
Officials of the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie and the Buffalo Rochester and Pittsburgh railroads organized for the July 4 Centennial Defense Way parade. The B R&P will send a special train carrying its band, arriving at 4 p.m. Saturday. Parade plans show seven divisions and at least sixty-five floats plus more. Marshal Ivor Davis leads the assembly timetable.
