The YMHA or YWCA campaign to raise 100000 opens with a mass meeting in the Coliseum. Dr Charles Jordan will speak on A Bachelor's Idea of an Ideal Home. The event marks the start of a long organized drive led by top civic workers and ministers.
The general public is invited to inspect the handsome new Young Women's Christian Association building this Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Architect W. G. Eckles will be present to explain the uses of the rooms and answer questions about the new home for the city’s young women.
About 200 men 100 women and 100 business girls join the Y W C A on their standards for tomorrow's event. Richard E Johns leads the music with favorites from the Sunday campaign. Attendees are asked to bring a red book and a section is set aside for businesswomen. Continued on Page Twelve.
Two police officers will be detailed to the Coliseum by the chief of police for a women only meeting. They will be stationed at the front entrance with firemen around the building as a precaution due to expected large crowds.

Reports indicate the Arthur Koppel company will stay busy after receiving an order for 400 sugar cane cars to be built promptly. The cars are intended for use in South America, and the plant has remained active since starting operations, rarely hit by economic downturns.
Dortmund Germany January 31. Twenty two bodies were removed today from the Achenbach colliery after an explosion and collapse late yesterday. Rescue attempts failed at noon and at least ten of the miners rescued earlier are expected to die.
Bell Telephone crews are replacing old poles along lines toward Youngstown. Two extra cross-arms are being added on each pole to accommodate additional wires, increasing capacity and improving service.
A gang of men is installing a new sheet iron fence around the New Castle tin plant. Workers are currently on the river side of the property.

Edward Morgan faced Alderman Green for a forenoon hearing on a charge of aggravated assault and battery brought by his wife. He allegedly shoved Mrs. Morgan with a bucket the day before a child was born. Alderman Green ordered Morgan held for the March term of court. Morgan had earlier been jailed on desertion and non support charges and was released on bail before a second warrant charged him with the current offense.
Edward Slease killed the first snake of the season on Wilmington avenue. He found a garter snake over two feet long and dispatched it as warm weather ended hibernation.
Reports show the Lemare organ recital last Tuesday for the YWCA drew 594 65 in proceeds. Receipts totaled 835 with expenses at 240 35. Rae Muirhead Business Girls' club led ticket sales with 235 tickets sold.
