Hold-up Men Loot New York Pawnshop Vault

Three men robbed the Adolph Stein pawnshop at 1508 Third Avenue in New York, binding and gagging three clerks while looting the safe. They escaped with three suitcases containing diamonds, watches, and cash valued at about $40,000 to $50,000. Police were alerted.

William Milkkinen is taken to Western Penitentiary after pleading self defense in the fatal stabbing of August Willa. Sheriff Carl Johnston in charge as Milkkinen receives a sentence of not less than three and a half to fifteen years. parolable after about three and a half years on good behavior.

Two Arrests on Liquor Charges

County Detective W H Dunlap this morning arrested Pat Kernan and John Kernan charged with selling liquor without a license before Alderman Green. Their place of business is alleged to have been on Division street. They were held for a hearing. John Kernan was arrested recently on a similar charge but Judge Porter suspended his sentence on him for reform.

A large, enthusiastic crowd attended a Crusaders meeting at the Reformed Presbyterian church on Oak street against Mormonism. Speakers included Dr. J. S. Martin, ex-Senator Frank J. Cannon, and Mrs. Sarah Ernest Snyder. A resolution urged Congress to curb seating Mormon lawmakers.
