Developer Edward J. DeBartolo Co. says construction must start within 25 to 30 days unless city sewer fees are reconsidered. city council previously proposed a $49,600 connection fee but later lowered to $24,800.

In Fairmont West Virginia UPI reports 25 year old Jo Ann Stevens a bank bookkeeper freed on 10000 bond pending grand jury action. Lucy Fortney 62 assistant cashier held without bond after waiving preliminary hearing. both charged with falsifying records to hide a 224244 bank shortage and 22549 shortage respectively. Fortney had been with the Bank of Shinnston since 1932. Stevens worked there about eight years.
