Three Injured In Coasting Accidents
Three people were hurt in coasting and sled riding incidents and admitted to Jameson Memorial hospital Friday. David Leonard, five and a half, of 717 Emerson Ave, had a fractured right shoulder treated at 4:55 p m. Roberta Jean Book, 17, of R D 3 Chapel Road, was treated for back injuries from sled riding the previous evening. Mabel Covert of R D 3 Chapel Road was treated for injuries to the left leg ankle and chest after sled riding near a neighbor’s home.

Station Wagon Hits Calvert. Three Injured In Route 422 Crash
A morning crash on Route 422 near New Castle left three people seriously injured and Curtis Strausser of Akron dead at New Castle Hospital at 12:30 p.m. The driver, Martha Williams of Detroit, 19, reportedly fell asleep, causing the vehicle to hit a culvert and ditch two miles east of New Castle. Williams suffered severe leg injuries and facial lacerations. Gerald Williams, 41, also of Detroit, had multiple injuries. all were treated at New Castle Hospital.

The worst storm in 20 years on the West Coast moved eastward bringing snow and freezing drizzle to the Midwest and the Los Angeles Long Beach area.
