White of McCleary Avenue was injured about the left shoulder and back when his Pirsch truck and the fire chief's car from Central station were damaged at 8 05 this morning at the State and Grant Streets intersection. Chief James E. Thomas and Fireman George H. Ward were en route to a fire when their unit swung to avoid Frank Siegel's truck which failed to pull aside as required. The icy road caused the chief's car to spin and crash into the other apparatus.
