Missing Children Bodies Recovered From Rahway River
In Cranford New Jersey grapplers recovered the bodies of seven year old Martha Harrington and seven year old Philip Harrington Jr near Droeschers Mill Dam. A third child Richard Johnson age nine was found later in the frigid Rahway River as searches continued in sub freezing conditions. The drownings link to previous incidents at the dam area which had been a known winter play spot for years. The parents warned the children to stay off the ice last week. Richard Johnson is the son of attorney Malcolm Johnson and Philip Harrington is a ship supervisor for Bethlehem Shipbuilding in Staten Island.
