About 250 citizens attended the New Castle Chamber of Commerce dinner at The Castleton. C E Yacoll detailed Beaver Mahoning and Shenango river slackwater projects and a Penn Power plan to recruit new industries within a few hundred miles of Youngstown. L A Manchester urged river improvements for navigation, outlining steps and urgency. Attendees heard a possible new plant location for a major firm among four cities including Chattanooga Nashville and Easton. Moody presided and Dickey served as toastmaster as music by P and O orchestra and William Filson highlighted the program.

Four Children Die In Ottway Ohio House Fire

Fire believed caused by a defective flue destroyed a Ottway home early today. Four children died and four others were seriously injured in the blaze. The Perry family, twelve children in all, watched as the fire trapped the youngsters on the second floor while parents rushed to save them.

Erie Motorist Is Killed In Crash Near Erie

One man was killed and four others injured when the auto they rode in skidded on West Lake highway, struck two telephone poles and burned. Victims Charles Minning 21 Erie died. Philadelphia January 24 Comedian Gordon Dooley longtime stage star died at his mother's Bywood home from pneumonia and pleurisy. Though only 31 he had roles in several productions and was in Vanities in New York when struck ill two months ago. Dooley last appeared in Honeymoon Lane about a year ago and will be buried tomorrow.
