County Residents Battle Heavy Snow and Ice Storm
Snow and ice blanketed the county as freezing temps and subzero wind chills persisted. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and AccuWeather warned residents to stay home while road crews cleared highways and salt trucks fought drifted streets. Many were snowed into driveways and businesses closed early as plows worked to keep routes passable. Some areas saw nearly a foot of snow with drifting resuming as gusty winds returned.
