Dog Rescued From Icy Lake At Bessemer Park
Bessemer Fire Chief Jim Nelson says firefighters responded to a 1 p.m. call about a black Labrador mix that fell through ice at Bessemer Lake Park. Nine firefighters used a boat to reach the dog but had to lasso and drag it ashore due to its size. The dog was rescued and appears to be in good health.

Man stabbed during dispute in New Castle
Police responded to a dispute at 701 N Cedar St in New Castle where Robert Morris, 50, was stabbed and taken to St Elizbeth Health Center in Youngstown. The incident began after 6 p.m. as Morris argued with Jason Wilshusen, 27, over eviction. Morris’s daughter is said to be Wilshusen’s girlfriend.
