Fire At Hotel Higgins Sparks Small Damage
Fire at Hotel Higgins corner of South Croton avenue and South Mill street started around 6 am from crossed electric wires in the attic. Sixty two guests slept as flames stayed in the attic and died out quickly. Later a store room fire at B J Thomas on South Mill street caused by same issue, light damage chiefly to stock. A second blaze at James Houston residence on Syndal street 2 pm caused by an overheated furnace and minor damage.
