New Castle Board OKs cafeteria and custodian contracts
The New Castle Area School District ratified five year contracts for 43 cafeteria workers and 20 custodians under Teamsters Local 261. Board votes were 8 to 0 for the cafeteria pact and 7 to 1 for the custodial agreement with Anna Pascarella dissenting over health benefits opt out provisions.

A draft state water health report shows about 27,886 miles of Pennsylvania streams impaired for aquatic life recreation fish consumption or potable water. The count rose 3 percent from 2020 largely due to added or reassessed 11,000 miles, as DEP cites better tools and science. Lancaster County has the most impaired miles.
