Iran Says Sanctions Will Cost Oil to Western Allies

Iranian Oil Minister Ali Akbar Moinfar warned Western Europe and Japan that any country joining U S sanctions against Iran would be deprived of oil. He offered to cut Iran’s oil output to about 1.5 million barrels per day if sanctions are imposed. Tehran denied reports of a drop in exports, stating output would stay between 3.0 and 3.5 million bpd. Independent reports also noted sabotage incidents including a blast on the Ahwaz Abadan pipeline and a failed coup claim in Kuwait’s press.
