Ellwood H. Reever, 42, of Linglestown, was given a maximum 3 year term in Dauphin County Prison after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of Mrs. Alice M. Woodside. The body was found in brush on her home property after an argument following drinks. her baby was found nearby. The January grand jury had declined to indict for murder.

Pittsburgh report notes a strike that could have disrupt ed 245 industries was avoided after the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad settled a nine‑work‑rule dispute affecting 300 workers in four locals. The injunction had halted a planned Jan 4 walkout, potentially stranding 700 commuters and idling about 3,000 rail workers. The agreement ends a four‑year dispute over pay for yard switches, disciplinary procedures, rest facilities, and travel risks, with key actions from federal Judge Louis Rosenberg sustaining the injunction.

Frank A. Call, 38, of 2412 Old Pittsburgh Rd, waived a hearing to move the case to the March term. Call and 11 others were arrested in a billiard parlor raid at 457 E. Washington Se by city and state police on charges of visiting a disorderly house. Call’s bond was set at $1,000 and the others forfeited $16 each.
Mrs. Catherine A Schladen Lawton, 78, of 1915 Adams Street, died on arrival at Jameson Memorial Hospital at 5 30 p.m. yesterday. Born in New Castle November 6 1886 to Henry and Caroline Schladen, widow of James E Lawton who died October 1 1963. Survived by three daughters Carolyn Hook Sally Newman Betty Bara a son John J Lawton 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Service at Honard Reynolds Funeral Home 909 Adams Street at 2 p.m. Saturday conducted by Dr Cuyler Ferguson. Interment Oak Park Cemetery. Friends may call today 7 to 3 p.m. and tomorrow 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m.
