Loren Smith, 30, a colored man, escaped from detectives aboard a Buffalo to Pittsburgh fast train no. 30 near Edenburg by leaping from a toilet window as the train neared New Castle Junction. Police searched the Edenburg area without success. Smith is wanted for jumping a $1,000 bail bond and was last known headed toward Buffalo. He is described as 5 feet 7 inches, 130 pounds, light complexioned with a small mustache, wearing a light suit and fedora.
