Flaherty defies order over Pittsburgh trash strike

Freighter Brandenburg Sinks Off England After Wreck Collision
In the English Channel the 2695-ton German freighter Brandenburg hit what officials believe was part of the Texaco Caribbean tanker wreck and sank within two minutes. Seven bodies found, 14 crew missing from 32, eleven survivors rescued to Folkestone Hospital. Lloyds says Brandenburg struck Texaco Caribbean wreck two miles from the January collision site involving the Panamanian tanker Texaco Caribbean and the Peruvian freighter Paracas.

Tentative money matters deal looms for teachers and board
