Harrisburg dispatch notes Governor Stuart may use his legal authority to appoint a state treasurer to replace John O. Sheatz upon expiration of his term the first Monday in May next. William Locke a longtime Scott township resident and one of Lawrence county's oldest families died at his daughter’s home after a pair of strokes.
