Russell Gibson a 33 year old ex convict and suspect in the 200000 Bremer kidnapping died from a gunshot wound after a federal raid on his north side Chicago apartment. Tear gas bombs forced his surrender and two women and Willie Harrison of St Louis were taken into custody. Gibson carried 5000 in large bills with serial numbers being checked for ransom links. He died at American hospital three hours after the shootout with five agents opening fire when his pistol jammed.
