National Pants Company Expands New Castle Plant
Greater New Castle Association announces expansion of the National Pants plant in New Castle. The company will abandon Washington and Pendleton sites to concentrate all activity locally, adding 75 to 100 jobs for a total of 400 to 450 employees and raising annual payroll to about 300 000 to 350 000 dollars. The expansion uses the entire factory floor on Butler road or an extra 12 500 square feet from Fisher Brothers.

Joseph Russo age 66 of 108 South Wayne street, a retired P and L E railroad employee, was killed about 1130 PM Thursday night when struck by a car driven by Edward L Strawhecker of R F D No 7 near the end of Cherry street extension on the West Pittsburg road.
