Society girl completes 1200 mile seaplane flight
Miss Ruth Nichols a 24 year old Rye New York society girl arrived in Miami after a non stop seaplane journey from New York covering 1200 miles in twelve hours. She traveled with Harry Rogers owner of the plane and Major M K Lee from Rockaway Beach in an attempt to avoid publicity. Nichols wore the latest flying attire as she climbed from the cockpit.

A large bank barn on the former Allison farm near Frizzieburg was destroyed by a fire likely incendiary in origin. Loss estimated around $8,000 with some insurance, including hay, grain, automobiles, a horse, a mule and many chickens. discovered at about 1:30 a.m. by a passing motorist who alerted John Jones and neighbors.

The coroner's jury reports Joseph H Reeeder died from injuries from a December 30 crash at the South Mill street crossing with the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie railroad struck by Lewis West's automobile.
