Springfield reports thousands of armed men combing the countryside in a massive search across Southwestern Missouri for the Young brothers Harry Jennings and Paul, wanted for a six officer massacre. Despite mobilization and modern methods, tips flood offices as hopes fade.

The new Board of County Commissioners adopts open meetings on Tuesdays and Fridays from 1 pm to 3 pm to hear residents. Full minutes will be kept of all county commissioner office transactions to ensure accessible, documented sessions.
Sam Braunstein Ohio State College medical student left home with $11 and a watch, was picked up by a driver with an Ohio license near Youngstown. The motorist produced a revolver near New Bedford and took the money and watch before ordering Sam to walk to town.

Mexico reopens its Pittsburgh consulate with the arrival of Senor Luis Perez-Abreu the new consul. He says many Mexican residents here are returning home to develop thousands of acres into farm land under a Mexican government program to relieve unemployment.

W H Gillespie read the oath as spectators packed the chamber and gifts were exchanged including bouquets flour and a watch and paper weight for the new officials.
