Beaver Falls Soldier Dies In Auto Crash
Frank Schrila a 26 year old Beaver Falls resident died at Jameson Memorial Hospital from injuries after his car skidded off Route 18 between New Castle and Wampum and overturned. He was admitted at 1 a.m. with a five inch head wound and abdominal injuries. Accompanying him was Fred Cooper 28 of Beaver Falls who had a possible left shoulder dislocation and left after emergency treatment.

Fatally Crushed Between Autos In New Castle
Ben Grinder aged 57 of 217 Belt street died at New Castle hospital after being crushed between the fronts of his car and a car driven by Charles Barut of Hanna street extension. Barut was detained by city police and is held for Coroner T F Nugent's investigation. Grinder stood in front of his car at 319 North Liberty street near Fullwood and McKinney garage when Barut's vehicle slid on ice and pinned him between the two cars.
