A three story brick rooming house on Eleventh and M streets N W burned early today killing Mrs Florence Bevans 32 her son Charles 13 and Raymonds Glines 27. Three others were injured two police officers and several residents as firemen fought the blaze marking three alarms. The fire started in a kitchen grill on the first floor and the three victims were found in a bay window on the third floor.

P R R Retires Three Veterans From Erie and Ash Tabula
Three veterans of the Erie and Ash Tabula division were added to the Pennsylvania railroad roll of honor after official retirement yesterday. Merritt T. Hall, a train dispatcher at division headquarters, began in May 1888 and served the E and A entirely. Robert W. Johnston, Ireland native, started August 19, 1907 as car inspector. Thomas Foster, switch tender at Seventh Ward yards, began April 13, 1900. The retirees were among many Pennsy employees retiring New Year’s Day.
